THE RDF CHIEF OF CIVIL-MILITARY COOPERATION CALLS YOUTH VOLUNTEERS TO UPHOLD DISCIPLINE AND TO PROTECT NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY

Kicukiro, 28 August 2025

The RDF Chief of Civil-Military Cooperation, Colonel Désiré Migambi Mungamba, today addressed over 410 youth volunteers from across the districts of the City of Kigali held at Kagarama Secondary School, Kicukiro district.

The youth volunteers training was organized by the City of Kigali in collaboration with Rwanda Youth Volunteers in community policing and in close partnership with Rwanda National Police from 24-29 August 2025.

In his address, Colonel Migambi emphasized on the crucial role of youth in protecting the country’s sovereignty, highlighting the importance of collaboration with other security organs in sharing information to prevent threats to the safety of Rwandan citizens.

He reminded the youth that the liberation struggle was driven by the active participation of young people like them and was instrumental in the nation’s rebirth. He added that their success was largely due to the discipline that guided their actions throughout the struggle.

He encouraged them to maintain discipline and continue being exemplary citizens who contribute to the nation's development. He also reminded them to take pride in their work, as it plays a vital role in ensuring community safety.
