SECTOR COMMANDER OF SECTOR SOUTH VISITS RWANBATT-3 UNDER UNMISS

Today, the Sector Commander of Sector South, Brigadier General Shishir Bharadwaj visited Rwandan peacekeepers ( RWANBATT-3), currently deployed under the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).
The visit took place at Durupi Camp in Juba.

Upon his arrival, Brigadier General Bharadwaj was warmly received by the Contingent Commander, Col Innocent Rwaka Muhirwe.

The Contingent Commander provided a  brief on the ongoing operations and key responsibilities of RWANBATT-3 under the UN mandate, particularly focusing on the protection of civilians within their area of responsibility.

In his remarks, the Sector Commander expressed his appreciation for the contingent’s dedication, discipline, and professionalism in maintaining security.

The Sector Commander commended RWANBATT-3 for their resilience and commitment in overcoming operational environment challenges.
He emphasized the importance of adaptability and flexibility in peacekeeping operations.

He encouraged the troops to remain responsive to the evolving security challenges and assured them of his full support in enabling the battalion to successfully accomplish its mission.
